We are thrilled to bring another Masterclass series to you and this time your instructors will be Cheesemonger Kate Truini from New Curds on the Block and Hawk Ridge Winemaker, Maureen Macdonald!

This 2 hour Masterclass will focus on the art of pairing artisan cheeses and wines. Learn some lingo and perfect your technique to wow your friends at your next get together!

We will be pairing the following wines with the following cheeses for you to enjoy:

Western CT Highlands Estate Rosé with Crottina, Bloomy-Rind Goat, Blue Ledge Farm, Leicester, VT

Tail Spin Frontenac Gris with Crema Alpina, Washed-Rind, High Lawn Farm, Lee, MA

Momma Hawk Chardonnay with Dutch Farmstead, Semi-Firm, Cato Corner Farm, Colchester, CT

Mad Hawk Tempranillo with Black Ledge Blue, Blue, Cato Corner Farm, Colchester, CT

Here's a little light reading on your Cheesemonger, Kate:

Kate J Truini is a Cheesemonger and the owner of New Curds on the Block in Oakville, CT. Kate received her BA in Interdisciplinary Art from Alfred University, and went on to earn a Masters in Food Studies from the American University of Rome, during which time she studied the intersection of food and art in rural communities. She has mongered behind the counters at Greenwich Cheese Company and Saxelby Cheesemongers, where she first learned how to care for cheese, and took an interest in American artisan cheesemakers. Kate started the business as a mobile monger at farmer's markets and fairs, and opened a storefront with her partner Zack, a fishmonger, in November of 2021.
